Start the New Year with a bang with some resolutions for your business

Firstly, I would like to say Happy New Year to everyone from us here at Croombs.  One thing a lot of people do for the New Year is to create resolutions for the year ahead.  I thought for this month’s article I would offer up five possible resolutions for you and your business for 2013.

  1. Get back in touch with all your potential customers who decided not to buy from you last year.  Perhaps things have changed and it doesn’t hurt to remind them what you have to offer.
  2. Try to make this year the year that you truly understand what your accounts are telling you.  Speak to your accountant or maybe buy yourself a book and train yourself to figure out what your numbers are showing you.
  3. If your current accounts system is just not doing it or perhaps you don’t even have a formal accounts system, consider moving to a new system that will revolutionise your business.  Give us a call to find out a bit more about which accounting system would be best for you.
  4. Make sure you meet your deadlines.  With tax deadlines coming up please make sure you are not going to be hit with filing penalties from the Revenue.  All you need to do is get the information to your Accountant and then let them worry about beating the deadline!  In addition to beating the deadline you will also learn about your tax bill (or refund) sooner rather than later!
  5. Attend some local networking events.  You never know it could transform your business!  There are paid for events and free to attend events.  Find the one that’s good for your business and attend regularly.  You will meet contacts that may become customers, suppliers and even friends.

To find out about other resolutions that you should be thinking about please give us a call.  All initial meetings with us are free of charge and of no obligation to you.
